Zakariyau Yusuf
Executive Director
Zakariyau has a strong background in non-profit entrepreneurship and is currently utilizing his expertise in risk governance for emerging technologies. Before that, Zakariyau successfully managed health interventions and research projects at Family Empowerment Media, New Incentives, and Oxford Biosecurity Group. He founded Effective Altruism Nigeria, which promotes and enables Nigerians to use evidence-based approaches to address important issues. Zakariyau is also an alumnus of the Charity Entrepreneurship Program.

Edward is an experienced policy professional with a background in economics and policy advisory in the UK. His expertise lies in synthesizing research and evidence, collaborating with experts and stakeholders, and translating these insights into actionable, evidence-based policy recommendations. Edward is dedicated to using his experience in technology, trade, and industry policy to contribute to efforts to protect humanity from the potential risks of emerging bio and artificial intelligence technologies.
Patrick Stadler

Patrick works on shaping a safe and flourishing future at Pour Demain. He co-founded and chairs the board of GiveWell-recommended nonprofit New Incentives, which he helped scale to over 100,000 users for its vaccination program in Nigeria.
Patrick was previously a political advisor for Switzerland's economic development agency and worked on strategic communications for peacebuilding and mediation at the UN.
Easter Godwin Nwokah

Dr. Easter is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Medical Laboratory Science at Rivers State University. He holds a PhD in Medical Microbiology (Molecular Microbiology). Dr. Easter's special interests include the Molecular Basis of Antimicrobial Resistance, Emerging/Re-emerging Infectious Diseases, and Biorisk Management. He has authored over 50 publications, serves as the secretary of the Nigeria Biological Safety Association (NiBSA), and is a certified biosafety professional (IFBA) and a certified Biorisk Management (BRM) Trainer.
Seth Baum
Advisor
Seth Baum leads Global Catastrophic Risks Institute (GCRI's) planning and management and contributes to its research. He is also a Research Affiliate of the Centre for the Study of Existential Risk at the University of Cambridge. Seth holds a Ph.D. in Geography from Pennsylvania State University (2012), completed a post-doctoral fellowship with the Center for Research on Environmental Decisions at Columbia University, and was a Fellow of the Emerging Leaders in Biosecurity program of the Center for Health Security at Johns Hopkins University.
